Add A Few New Worship Tunes to Your Contemporary Mix!
The latest EP from Andy Calvert is an offering of two originals surrounded by three familiar worship songs! Acclaim is short and well produced. Andy Calvert has been blessed with a voice that is pleasant and easy on the ears. He easily articulates words like a feather changing direction on gusts of wind. Pure in tone and devoid of grit, Andy’s vocals have a slight waver and trill that is both warm and bright.
The two original songs, written by Andy Calvert and Todd Burkhalter, “Relentless” and “Kingdom Come” are worship oriented songs, that both end in proclamations that God is holy. Both utilize dreamy and extended reverb in parts that give a depth and feel that magnifies the subject of a high and exalted God. The opening guitar riff for “Relentless” is a beautiful string of notes dancing like stars in the night sky. The three other songs on this album, “Oh How I Need You,” “Heaven’s Song,” and “Great Are You Lord,” are excellent recreations that will not disappoint the listener. Andy’s version of “Great Are You Lord,” is not to be missed.
