Today’s Scripture reading is Daniel 3
We will focus on verses 17 and 18 this morning.
Many know the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, and we know that they responded with faith, but do we examine beyond verse 17 of the answer?
They responded with these words:
“O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not fear to answer thee in this matter.
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”
Is there something in your life that you expected God to do, or believed that He could do, but did not turn out the way you expected?
If you are still angry at God, spend some time in conversation with God, asking Him to reveal His plan to you.
Ask God to increase your faith in this matter. Seek the face of God. Acknowledge that your plans are not His plans.
