Bridging the Divide Between Worship and Hard Rock

City Bridge Worship Ep cover image

What happens when you love to worship and you also love the hard driving sound of guitars? You combine them, and that’s what City Bridge Worship has done in their self titled EP. A little funk, a bit of hard rock, these guys have a defined heart for worship that drives right to the heart of deepening a relationship with Christ.

City Bridge Worship EP, jumps right into it with “Made to Worship.” Combining wailing guitars and a slamming wall of sound, this track builds and develops into a tight groove. Synthesizers punctuate swirls and blares of excitement. This is by far the most upbeat and groove-tastic song on this EP, and I wish there was at least one or two more that were like this on their release. City Bridge Worship EP then delves into four deeply personal worship songs that are fantastic and make for excellent corporate worship, but I was hoping that there would be at least one more like “Made to Worship.”

The tracks “Come,” “Closer” and “Greatest Love” are beautiful expressions of wanting to know God on a deeper personal level. All are slower ballads with “Closer” building into a powerful finish. The EP then ends on the track “We Long For.” All of the songs are written by the members of City Bridge Worship. Hailing from New York City, David Badillo, Rafael Morales, Angel Luiz and Danny Agosto make up the current members of City Bridge.

Should you? Yes. You know you want that first song.
